Dear Ismail,

Thank you for your interest in our code.
PIConGPU can be found via our homepage:
https://picongpu.hzdr.de
and our GitHub page:
https://github.com/ComputationalRadiationPhysics/picongpu

You can use the code under Windows, however we strongly recommend using Linux. You will need to compile the code yourself. Details on how to download and install the code for Linux exist, but we have not yet found the time to provide an installer for Windows. You will thus have to comnpile and install the code yourself. Please be aware that you will need an NVIDIA CUDA enabled GPU in your system and the proper software installed. You will also need a compiler running under Windows.

Prof. Fiedorowicz saw my talk at the ELI meeting.
It is great that you want to try our code.
You should be reminded that some of the features you might be interested in are in development, e.g. right now PICoNGPU does not yet fully support atomic physics.

We will try to help you as best as we can in getting started. It might be helpful if you can explain what you want to do with the code, which hardware you have access to, etc. The more details we have the better we can help you.

Please direct all your questions to our PIConGPU users mailing list picongpu-users@hzdr.de or use the GitHub collaborative features to point out bugs & problems. I've put this E-mail on the mailing list for the others to see.

Best, Michael

Dear Bussman,

I am a PhD candidate, recommended by Prof. Henryk Fiedorowicz of
Military University of Technology, Institute of Optoelectronics, Warsaw.
And working in photon-matter interaction studies in extreme ultraviolet
and soft x-ray regime using laser plasma light sources. Also, very much
interested in doing some computational work on low-energy photo-ionized
plasma to compare with laboratory measured spectra. I would like to ask
if it is possible to use PIConGPU code on windows platforms or any
prerequisites installations as well. I am looking forward to hearing
from you.

Yours sincerely,

Ismail Abdalla
