Hello,

Please find my features request below which appeared due to the need to evaluate if acceleration of electron bunches can be achieved in wakes created inside a bundle of carbon nano-tubes rather than ionized-gas. These wakes may be created by a particle bunch or by a laser beam. Here are a few aspects which to my knowledge are not implemented in PIConGPU, but might prove extremely useful.

  1. restrict the mobility of ions as if they were bound to a solid-state crystal lattice;
  2. remove the ion mobility restriction if the vibration energy locally exceeds a certain level, that means a certain region behaves like gas instead of solid;
  3. mathematically model the initial density of atoms such that hollow tubes structures of variable diameter (tens of nm) and length (um) are possible;
  4. model lattice vibrations;

with best regards and many thanks,

Cristian
