Dear PIConGPU-Users,


I am honored to present you on behalf of all PIConGPU developers the
"0.4.1" release of PIConGPU. DOI:10.5281/zenodo.1478937

This release fixes minor bugs found after the 0.4.0 release. Some 
examples were slightly outdated in syntax, the new "probe particle" 
EveryNthCell initialization functor was broken when not used with equal 
spacing per dimension. In some rare cases, sliding could occur twice in 
moving window simulations.

Please refer to our ChangeLog [1] for a full list of features, fixes and
user interface changes before getting started.

Thanks to Axel Huebl, René Widera, Richard Pausch and Andrei Berceanu 
for contributions to this release!

You can now check out the 0.4.1 tag [2] or our mainline branch "master"
(via git) and start using it today!

For our new users: if you attended our workshop two weeks ago, we 
live-updated our source code already with some of the bug-fixes. 
Nevertheless, you should still update as well. Bugfix releases (last 
digit in version goes up) are always backwards compatible to the 
according previous major release (in that case to 0.4.0). That means it 
will just work with your existing 0.4.0 input sets. The only thing you 
need to adjust is:

  go to your picongpu.profile
    (e.g. $HOME/k80_picongpu.profile on Hypnos/HZDR)

  and adjust the variable pointing to
    export PICSRC=...
  if it still points to our workshop directory.

  You should set it to
    export PICSRC=$HOME/src/picongpu

  Also, download the latest release of PIConGPU to this path via:

    git clone 
https://github.com/ComputationalRadiationPhysics/picongpu.git 
$HOME/src/picongpu
